The V1 is powered by a removable mAh lithium-ion battery that will give you up to full-power flashes on a charge, so you don't miss any of the action. I did try to find the answer, but remained unsure. To use the light meter Seikonic LX with a flash Godox ADit would be practical if I could remotely trigger either the flash directly, or indirectly by taking a test shot on the camera. If I were to remotely trigger the camera instead of the flash, I would slide in a Hahnel Captur on top of the X1T for Nikonwhich would in turn activate the flash by taking a shot.
Put the X1T in app mode and use an Xpro to fire the flash and set the power. IN app mode the X1T only fires the flash and doesn't controll settings in the flash. I just slide the Xpro off the camera to use it but will get an X1T sometime. Both Godox transmitters X1T and X1pro have a "test" button which will fire the flash remotely with the settings you dialed in applied. To use the light meter [Sekonic] LX with a flash Godox ADit would be practical if I could remotely trigger either the flash directly, or indirectly by taking a test shot on the camera.
Set it up so it can trip the lights like your on-camera unit. Make sure its sync port is set to be an input the A1 can only have sync input; the X1T and XPro can have their sync ports configured to be either input or output.
Let me also ask - is there any optical slave on these? It would be great as like an extra rim light or something when using a different radio system. Put the flash meter in the Cordless Flash mode with the dome extended. Place the meter either where the subject will be or adjacent to the subject and aimed at the main source of light. To get the reading and to adjust the power of your off-camera flash units hold the L in one hand and the X1T in the other hand.
For a portrait the exposure is based on the brightest diffuse highlight that should retain details. This is usually on the cheek closest to the main light. Place the meter next to this and aimed at the main light for an initial reading. That will trigger the off-camera AD and the meter will give you an aperture f-number value appropriate for the ISO and flash brightness. Either turn off or block off all other sources of light except for the one being measured while setting the power of all these lights.
Take a final reading with the meter adjacent to the brightest diffuse highlight with the dome aimed at the main light. That is your exposure. If you are using more than one light these extra lights may also be illuminating the brightest diffuse highlight so this final reading should be done with all lights on and without blocking off any of them.
This reading will be higher than the initial main light reading if any of your other lights are illuminating the brightest diffuse highlight. Once you get the power of all of the off-camera flash units adjusted to give you the desired exposure put the X1T on the camera and take your photos.
The light on the subject won't change unless you change the subject distance to the flash units or change the power of any of the flash units. If you make any of these changes you need to take a new flash meter reading.

The original version XproC V1.Like any camera system, there are unique ways the lighting system works and this can be confusing for many people. I will also try to update this article as time goes on, but if you feel anything is wrong here, please feel free to let me know, either via the comments or email. I might have missed something while writing it. When I wrote this article, I realised that the audience in some cases may be new to flash.
These will be relevant to a specific area I am writing about and will help extend the knowledge for a novice. One of the greatest advantages of the Godox system is the ability to mix and match speedlights and strobes with a variety of camera systems, along with the low-cost entry point for people looking to experiment or start using lighting for the first time. Many of the Strobe brands do not manufacture speedlights and many speedlight brands do not manufacture strobes.
Godox along with Profoto is one of the few to provide both options. I have not covered the non-battery studio models of their strobe lineup. Flash Havoc have an extensive overview of the whole Godox lineup that is worth looking at.Dream of snow falling
The difference between these two has always been blurred, more so in recent years. As a result, lets assume for the sake of this article that a speedlight is a lightweight flash that can be used on camera and the strobe is a high-powered flash designed to be used off camera. You have a small low powered flash and a larger full powered flash.
Typically in the speedlight range, a TT version is an AA battery version and a V version is one supplied with a rechargeable battery. The S indicates Sony version, although they are compatible with other cameras if used with the brand specific trigger.
The small flash is more suited to the size of the Sony mirrorless cameras, however, these units have a limited amount of power, about 2 stops worse than the larger brother, and this, in turn, will limit your capability with the speedlight. I would recommend the internal rechargeable over the AA version if you do go for this model. The recharge time between flashes is faster and the batteries can produce more full-powered flashes per charge.
The version that comes with rechargeable batteries is more expensive for obvious reasons. Whilst the is large, it also offers what I consider the minimum acceptable power for any decent flash work. As with the TT, the is offered in two different versions, an AA version, and a rechargeable version.
Important note: The TT and Vii are prone to hotshoe breaks for some obscure reason. If this does occur, hotshoes can be purchased separately and at a fairly low cost. For more information on replacing the hotshoe, have a look at this article and video.
Important note: The larger Godox speedlights are known to have hotshoe breakage issues for people who use them heavily.
